Sow & Read started with a shared observation: the best garden writing already exists — it's the sort of writing you take to the porch on a Sunday evening and read slowly. Most of what's online now is optimized for search engines, not for readers.
We wrote the Sow & Read Guide as a small, honest book — 160 pages, twelve monthly chapters, a short kitchen crop reference — meant to be read cover to cover, then kept nearby and returned to.
Every plant, every technique, every honest admission of a failed year is drawn from what we've grown ourselves. That's often where the useful part comes from.
We never accept payment to recommend a specific seed brand or tool. If a product appears in the guide, it's because we've used it and would recommend it to a friend.
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand, in aggregate, how visitors read this site. See our Privacy Policy.
